(WEHT) – Earlier this week, the CDC announced that fresh whole onions were the cause of a salmonella outbreak that spanned 37 states in the United States and was published by ProSource Inc.

The company imported the onions from Chihuahua, Mexico, and distributed them to restaurants and grocery stores in the United States. ProSource said the possibly spoiled onions were last imported on Aug 27, but due to the vegetables’ long shelf life, they may still be on store shelves.

Do I have salmonella poisoning or is it something else entirely?

Two more onion recalls have now been announced. The FDA is urging people to throw away all HelloFresh and EveryPlate onions that they received from July 7th through September 8th. The companies say they have been informed by one of their suppliers that they are voluntarily recalling onions because of potential salmonella.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are still investigating the statewide salmonella outbreak linked to onions from Mexico. More than 600 people are reported to have been infected; nobody died.
