A defiant eight-year-old mother who lives on welfare says she doesn’t care if people call her trashy or lazy.
Marie Buchan was dubbed “Octomum” after appearing on Channel 4’s Only Human show in 2016.
She claims to be “addicted” to pregnancy and parenting and doesn’t care that people think she’s only getting babies for money.

Marie notices that some people are angry that she is living on state welfare, but says that she loves her children and that is all that matters to her.
A scene from the documentary recently reappeared on TikTok and has been viewed more than 800,000 times.
She says, “I’m addicted to pregnancy, I’m addicted to childbirth and nutrition, I’m addicted to it.
“I think a lot of people really see me as trash. Lazy, useless, just making babies for money.”
Marie cuddled and bottle-fed her newest baby, Olivia: “She’s a happy baby. So I could do it again very easily.”
Viewers were divided on the issue, with some supporting her and others outraged that she was not working and instead using social benefits to support and house her large family.
One person wrote, “She would be perfect as a foster mother or adopted children in need of families.”
Another asked, “How can a mother of eight be lazy?”
A third viewer said: “She just seems to be a really good mother and has really well-behaved children, nothing wrong with that.”
A fourth asked, “Who has to pay for all of this?
It has been reported that she was receiving £ 500 a week – which is about £ 26,000 a year.
Marie has seven girls and one boy who are now between six and 18 years old.
The mother also appeared on the Channel 5 show Benefits Britain: Life On The Dole, where she claimed she worked 21 hour days and looked after her children.
However, the mother has come under fire for apparently using her government handouts to fund a lavish lifestyle, the Spiegel reports.
She sparked outrage when she appeared on This Morning, saying that life was better with benefits and that she would be spending her wages on a bosom job.
Last year she saved up for a bosom job through trunk sales and part-time work to cover the operation instead of taking advantage of her benefits.
Last December she sparked outrage over her decision to fly to Spain alone after the Christmas break.
She said she needed a break from her children, which she had to take care of “most of the year” as schools were closed due to the pandemic.
“Government prosecutors like me, a mother of eight, are forgotten.”
In January, Marie said she was hospitalized after testing positive for Covid.
She had lost her sense of taste and smell and developed a cough, as well as vomiting and nosebleeds.
She isolated herself at home by locking herself in her bedroom while her children looked after themselves downstairs.
Marie from Birmingham was released and brought home less than a week later.
